Leah Fredereic, CRCP
Leah Frederick, CRCP, began working in financial services for Signator Financial services under the mentorship of a senior financial advisor. She moved to San Diego in 2002 and continued building her practice. As Senior Financial Advisor of her own Ameriprise franchise, she specializes in holistic financial planning, business development and strategic financial planning for individuals and families.

Leah has a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, is a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) and has her Series 6, 66 and 7 Securities license. She volunteers with a variety of charities that aid abused women and children.

Greg T. Greenwood, Ph.D., M.B.A., Founder and Board President of Home for the Holidays (HFTH) is the Chief Executive Officer of Human Capital Specialists, Inc. Trained as a clinical psychologist, he has over 25 years of experience in health care. Prior to starting Human Capital Specialists, Greg worked at WellPoint, Inc., the largest publicly traded health benefits company in the United States. Before that, he was President of the Health Plan Division of ValueOptions, one of the nation's largest managed behavioral health care companies.

Greg has a B.A. from DePauw University, a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Bowling Green State University (Ohio) and an M.B.A. degree from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Kristina L. Greenwood, Ph.D. has over 20 years of experience in clinical outcomes research, health care operations, and the development of integrated care programs. Kris has served in senior leadership roles with managed behavioral health organizations, including ValueOptions, Inc., American Biodyne (which became Magellan Health Services) and CORPHEALTH, Inc. During her tenure at Mental Health Outcomes (a subsidiary of Horizon Health Corporation), she designed healthcare outcomes measurement systems and conducted research services for pharmaceutical companies. Kris also served in an executive operations role for a large multidisciplinary behavioral health care group practice.

Trained as a clinical psychologist, she received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Bowling Green State University and completed internship training at Indiana University School of Medicine.

David K. Ries, Esq, Board Secretary
David K. Ries, Esq, Board Secretary, serves as General Counsel for Human Capital Specialists, as well as a Legal Consultant to HCS clients. David was inspired to pursue a law degree after years of working at social service organizations in New York City. Prior to joining HCS, David was a solo-practitioner who handled California state court appeals. He previously served a law clerk in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.

David received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. David received his B.A. from Vassar College.

Jean K. Ries, MPA, Executive Director, has spent the past eleven years in management consulting and capacity building for nonprofit organizations, specializing in organizational assessment, development, and change management. Since moving to San Diego in 2006, Jean has delivered outcome-based strategy consulting services to San Diego and Orange County organizations and foundations. As Executive Director of HFTH, Jean is focusing on working with the Board to build the organization's infrastructure, including its policies, procedures and key systems for processing applications and donations. For the past year, she has been lead consultant for NP Strategies, an organizational consulting firm that helps nonprofits solve business, strategy and management-related challenges. Prior to her relocation from New York City, Jean was Manager of Consulting Services at Fiscal Management Associates, LLC, a private consulting firm specializing in fiscal operations and management consulting to nonprofits.

Jean holds a Masters in Public Administration from New York University's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and graduated with honors from Vassar College.


Lisa Molhusen, Board Treasurer


Lisa Molhusen, Board Treasurer, began in the accounting field as an auditor on the liquidation staff for Delta America Re Insurance Company in New York, New York. She was the initial administrator for Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company of Kentucky when it began in 1987 through Marsh & McLennan, Inc. in Louisville, Kentucky. She has over 10 years experience in property and casualty insurance in Kentucky, California and Texas where she worked for large independent agencies. Most recently, Lisa spent 11 years with a CPA firm in Chattanooga, TN where she specialized in tax. She prepared and reviewed individual, corporate and fiduciary returns. Currently, Lisa serves as Controller for Human Capital Specialists, Inc. where she oversees the day-to-day operations of the corporation.

Lisa received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a Management emphasis from Transylvania University.


Diane Warden, Ph.D., M.B.A.

Diane Warden, Ph.D., M.B.A., has had nearly 20 years of experience as a senior healthcare executive. She was Vice President of Clinical Services-Strategic Planning and Implementation at Magellan Behavioral Health and held executive positions at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Travelers and CIGNA. Diane is currently on the faculty of the psychiatry department at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where she has developed and managed research delivery systems and networks and been involved with conducting research with broad public health significance.


A clinical psychologist, Diane received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, Ph.D. from Bryn Mawr College, and M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is a fellow of the American College of Mental Health Administration.



Ronald Taylor


Ronald Taylor
Mr. Taylor is Vice President and General Counsel of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, a division of Health Care Service Corporation ("HCSC"). In this role, he manages a staff that provides legal services to support the varied business activities of HCSC's Texas Division. Mr. Taylor has also served as a director and officer of numerous subsidiary and affiliated corporations of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, and currently serves on the Board of the Caring For Children Foundation of Texas and the national Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association Legal Department Cooperative.

Mr. Taylor holds a B.A. in economics and business administration from Cornell College and a J.D. from Southern Methodist University School of Law. He retired as a Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army Reserve.


Paul Phillips



Paul Phillips was born in Peoria, IL and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In June of 1977 he entered the US Army and trained at Ft. Dix, NJ. He went on to do Infantry and Airborne training at Ft. Benning, GA

Over the next 21 years, he was stationed throughout the Continental United States in Ft. Bragg, NC, Ft. Lewis, WA and Ft. Riley, KS., to mention a few. His overseas tours included 2 tours on the DMZ in Korea, Europe and Hawaii.

During his 2 decades in the Army, Paul saw deployments and served in combat tours in Grenada, Panama, Thailand and earthquake relief in Japan. He also did multiple tours in Central America.

His award and decorations include the Combat Infantry Badge, Gold-Star Airborne Wings, Pathfinder Badge, Air-Assault Expert Badge, Drill Sergeant Badge and various awards and decorations related to his service.

He retired in September of 1998 and resides in San Diego, Ca with his wife, Susan Guenzel. They own a pet-sitting business. They have 3 grandchildren and he recently ended a 30-year career as a college basketball official. He now spends time traveling evaluating younger officials for their advancement.

He is active with Disabled Veterans Association, Army Emergency Relief Fund and Operation Homefront. He regularly donates his time to the local chapter of the VA.
